Eating it

The secret, really, is to cook it at low temperatures for a long, long time (I chose to braise mine in a red wine reduction sauce, but you could just as easily use beef stock).  Shallots are key.  The truffle-oil infused mashed potatoes go nicely.  You never do get used to the texture…but they are scavengers…so what can you expect?

Landon Donovan may yet prove to be the eunuch we’ve accused him of being.  For now, though, that was virtuosic.  The goals were of impeccable quality.  Donovan showed tremendous class in taking them, and it would not be a stretch to say it was the finest goalscoring display ever put forth by a male in a US jersey.

Enjoy your meal…goal. goal. goal. goal. goa

Update:  Suitcase of Courage has been on the same diet.

  2. You’ll have to forgive me if I’m going to be the last one on the bandwagon, but aren’t these the least pressure-filled events out there (outside the MLS, of course).

I’ll admit he’s been somewhere between “spectacular” and “Um…wow” lately, but let’s see this when it matters. Now pass the crow. I’ll take mine cajun style (burnt).

  3. I think you can hold off on braising the foul until Everybody’s Favorite Quitter shows up consistently (that means in a string of consecutive games, Lan-don) in MEANINGFUL games.

I just don’t think we’d have seen this sort of performance in, say, the Copa America.

  4. Well, Scott, given Landon’s aversion to all things competitive, it’s unlikely you will see this sort of performance in the Copa America. Like us, Lando will be watching the event on TV. Gold Cup opponents Trinidad & Tobago are officially being put on notice, however.
