Lukey the Czech
October 20 – 2006
Last week, Lukey the Czech went 4 for 9 while his bankroll slipped below the century mark for the first time since the World Cup. It’s not been a good run for Lukey, but know this: the Czech people are a wily bunch, known to play dead in order to gain an advantage.
Currently, Lukey maintains a profit of $98.25 (based on $5 and $10 mythical bets). This week, he’s looking to an American owned, Irish led club to get him back in the winner’s circle. Giddee up, after the jump.
Lukey’s Lock:
I’ve done quite well with my lock of the week and that didn’t change last Saturday, when not only did I predict the winner, but also hit the score on the nose. The obvious pick would be Everton at home against Shittfield United, but that’s too easy and the value just isn’t there.
Instead I’m jumping on the Martin O’Neill train. I love this guy: I can’t understand him when he speaks in the post match interviews, he looks ultra goofy, and with the specs that he’s sporting, one might assume the guy is legally blind. Nevertheless, he’s taken a team that I thought would be complete shite this year and turned them into a serious contender. They created numerous chances last week, and if it wasn’t for one f’ing terrible forward (Angel) they would have won the game. What’s with Angel? He missed 3 pks last year, missed another this last weekend, proceeded to score an own goal, and missed a chance in the closing seconds to put the game away. Needless to say, I’m tired of watching this jackoff on the field and I think this statement from his team profile puts it all in perspective:
Although he is certainly known to still miss the ODD GLARING CHANCE, the long-haired frontman is now adored at Villa Park and is a true fans’ favourite.
Not exactly what I’d want my favorite team’s forward-profile to look like. Even so, Fulham have given up 9 goals on the road, while Villa’s defense has been nothing short of stellar. Petrov is starting to find his groove, Barry has been great, and hopefully Baros is given a chance…Villians 2 – Fulham 0.
Rest of the Field:
Wigan vs. Man City: 1-1
Charlton vs. Watford: 3-1
Chelsea vs. Portsmouth: 2-0
Everton vs. Sheff. Utd: 3-0
Man Utd. vs. Liverpool: 1-0
Blackburn vs. Bolton: 2-2
Middlesbrough vs. Newcastle: 2-1
Tottenham vs. West Ham: 2-1
Reading vs. Arsenal: 0-1

I believe Lukey went 5 for 10 last week..check your numbers.
