“Properly in the Face”

Soccer A.M. entertains us to no end; most of the time intentionally, but often not. The following clip puts the ever so fetching hostess, Helen Chamberlain, squarely in the path of cruel fate and sees her emerge with professionalism in tact. She easily could have followed “I got one right in the face,” with, “and I think it was the armless bloke.” She didn’t, and instead laughs her way through it. Well done.

But Serge Pizzorno, the guitarist for UK band Kasabian (you’ll recognize the song), is the only rocker who can claim he scored the best goal ever on Soccer AM’s “Road to Wembley” competition. And though it still doesn’t hold a candle to Helen getting one “properly in the face” thanks to a one-armed man, it’s a spectacular strike nonetheless. [...]
